I MAKE HEALTHY COOKING DELICIOUS

I am a nutrition focused personal chef serving those with specialty diets, restrictions, or want to have healthy food that actually tastes amazing. I was professionally trained at the Culinary Institute of America where I learned the techniques and skills to build a foundation for my career. With over 5 years of experience in professional kitchens and restaurants, I decided to create my personal chef company, Kelly’s Clean Kitchen, to work more closely with individuals to curate the best meals for them.

The journey of getting into cooking was a rollercoaster. In my sophomore year as a D1 college volleyball player at Winthrop University, I suffered a traumatic brain injury during a match. What seemed minor at first, turned more serious when my brain was not healing. I was medically disqualified from college athletics a year after the injury, losing the one thing I was passionate about. This drove me into an eating disorder as a means to cope with the loss of my identity as an athlete. I fell deep into orthorexia, a lesser known eating disorder that makes you fearful of anything unhealthy, and lost over 50 pounds, where at my lowest I weighed 113 pounds as a 6’1” woman.

Through the recovery process from orthorexia, I took up cooking for myself, mostly because I was afraid to eat normal food. But through the process of cooking for myself, I gained a new passion and started loving food again. I slowly turned this obsession with health into a passion to fuel and heal my body with healthy food. I was able to make a full recovery by finding joy in cooking and food. With this new passion, I started working in restaurants and then attended the Culinary Institute of America where I graduated at the top of my class in December of 2019.

It is now my mission to help others on their health journeys by providing them with meals catered towards their nutritional needs and goals, without compromising on flavor. Whether it be using macros to build muscles, or following a specialty diet for allergies or health needs, or eating better for you food that tastes amazing, it is my goal to create meals that my clients are excited to eat & help them reach their goals!

Fun Facts About Me:

  • I modeled in NYC, Milan, and Atlanta where I walked top fashion shows on the runway. I used this experience to travel and eat my way around the cities I modeled in, my favorite being Milan for obvious food reasons.
  • I love health and fitness. As a former college volleyball player, I love to lift weights, hike, play beach volleyball, and have done many Spartan races in the past.
  • I am a huge Harry Potter fan + book nerd!
