Bouillon cubes are great for infusing flavors in soups and sauces. However, I do not love store bought bouillon cubes because they often have very unhealthy ingredients. The great news is that making your own homemade bouillon cubes is incredibly easy!
I like to make my own cubes and then store in the fridge for up to a week, or in the freezer indefinitely. You can do this with any meat based stock that is homemade.

I highly recommend using your own homemade broth or high quality store bought broth that doesn’t come from a carton. Carton broths are not really “real” broths and usually just filled with flavors, so it wont have the same effect because of the lack of collagen and gelatin.
Ingredients:
- 1 quart homemade beef, chicken, or any meat stock / or broth (here is my recipe for chicken stock, you can substitute beef bones to make this beef stock)
Preparation:
STEP 1.
Add the stock / broth to a pot and bring to a low simmer. Simmer for around 20-30 minutes, until it is thickened to a syrup consistency.
STEP 2.
Take off the heat and pour into a container, cool in the fridge until it sets and is no longer liquid, but gelatin like.
STEP 3.
Remove from the fridge and use a spatula to remove the bouillon. Cut into cubes and use or store in the fridge for up to a week, and freezer indefinitely.
