When it comes to the holidays the one thing I care about most is the food. I tend to go all out with everything from appetizers, to entrees, to desserts. One of my favorite holiday desserts is this peppermint chocolate mousse. It is no bake, and super easy to make for large groups!

I use Isopure’s Dutch Chocolate Protein Powder which has the best texture and zero flavor. I also love their vanilla and unflavored flavors when I am looking to add it to certain sweets like creme brulees or chocolate budino. Use code “KELLY15” for 15% off Isopure!

If you don’t want to use protein powder in the recipe, no worries, just omit!

How to make the perfect holiday dessert – peppermint chocolate mousse 🍫  This is super easy to make for a crowd and perfect for the holiday season. I even like to add @Isopure Low Carb Dutch Chocolate Protein Powder to help me hit my daily protein needs since I find that hard to do in the holidays! Ingredients: 1. 1 cup heavy cream plus 1.5 cups, separated  2. 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips 3. 2 scoops Isopure Chocolate Protein Powder 4. 1 tsp salt 5. 2 tsp peppermint extract Optional Garnish: 1. 1 candy cane, crushed 2. Whipped cream Instructions: 1. In a pot, add 1 cup of heavy whipping cream and bring up to a steep, just enough to where it is barely bubbling and warmed through. Pour into a bowl with chocolate chips and stir until the mixture is smooth, melting the chocolate chips. Whisk in the protein powder. Cool to room temp. 2. In a separate bowl, add the 1.5  cups heavy whipping cream, salt and peppermint extract. With a hand mixer or mixer, mix until a whipped cream forms and has stiff peaks. 3. Pour the room temp chocolate mixture into the whipped cream and gently fold it in. Make sure to be very gentle, you want to keep as much air in the mixture as possible.  4. Once it is smooth and mixed in, transfer the mixture into serving ramekins by spooning in, or piping with a piping bag. Refrigerate for 2-4 hours to set. 5. Remove the mousse from the fridge 10 minutes before serving. Top with garnishments if you like and serve.
