
One of my favorite desserts is a gooey chocolate lava cake. I remember going to Chili’s and always ordering this for dessert growing up. Now I like to make a healthier version that is gluten free and high protein! I like to use Isopure’s Whey Protein in this recipe and you cannot even tell it is higher protein.

Key Ingredients & Substitutions:
- Butter – You can use whole butter or coconut oil here.
- Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips – Use semi sweet or dark chocolate of choice.
- Eggs – No substitutions here.
- Sugar – I use white sugar for this, but you can use any sugar of choice.
- Almond Flour – This it the only flour in the dish, no substitutions!
- Isopure Dutch Chocolate Whey Protein – No substitutions, can omit if needed.

Ingredients: 1. ½ cup butter, plus 1 tbsp for the ramekins 2. 6 ounces semi sweet chocolate chips 3. 2 large egg yolks 4. 2 large eggs 5. ¼ c sugar plus 1 tbsp for ramekins 6. 1 tsp vanilla extract 7. 1/4 tsp salt 8. 1 tablespoon almond flour 9. 1 scoop @Isopure Dutch Chocolate Whey Protein 10. 2 tbsp powdered sugar for topping Instructions: 1. Preheat the oven to 425°F. 2. Butter 6 oz oven safe ramekins and then coat in sugar. This will prevent the cake from sticking. Set aside. 3. In a double boiler in a metal bowl, or in the microwave, melt the butter and chocolate together, stirring continuously until melted. Set aside. 4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg yolks, eggs, sugar, vanilla and salt for 2 minutes, until slightly thickened. 5. Stir in the almond flour, Isopure protein powder and the melted chocolate mixture until smooth. The batter should be fairly thick. 6. Pour the batter into 4-6 ramekins and place on a sheet tray. 7. Transfer to the oven and bake for 12-14 minutes. They are done when the edges are set. Remove from the oven. 8. Cool for one minute and then use a butter knife to go around the sides of the cake. 9. Protein Chocolate Lava Cake

Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup butter, plus 1 tbsp for ramekins
