For anyone who is vegan or dairy free, the best replacement for whipped cream is using aquafaba. Aquafaba is the liquid that comes from a can of chickpeas. Shockingly, they don’t have an overpowering chickpea flavor, and take on the flavor of the added ingredients. It is wild what aquafaba can do, you can even make meringues with it!

Ingredients:

  • liquid from one can of chickpeas
  • 1/2 – 1 cup powdered sugar

Preparation:

STEP 1.

In a metal bowl, whisk the aquafaba with a standing mixer or hand mixer. After about 5 minutes when it starts to thicken, add powdered sugar to taste and whisk in. Whisk until you have stiff peaks and serve.
